The Columbia River Compact convened by teleconference Friday, August 21 to discuss ongoing August non-Indian commercial fisheries. The catch to date has been much higher than anticipated, but exactly why is not yet apparent. Fall FactSheet 5 and  the subsequent Compact Action Notice are appended. The previously scheduled 10-hour opener beginning at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23 has been rescinded.
