Summer Fact Sheet 3 & Tribal Action

Joint Staff Report Summer Fact Sheet No.3 pertains to run size updates from the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for the US v. Oregon process and ongoing Treaty Tribal commercial fisheries for summer Chinook and sockeye in Columbia River mainstem Zone 6.
The upriver summer Chinook run size has been downgraded to 75,000 fish at the river’s mouth. The sockeye run size has been set at 375,000 fish, which is three times larger than the pre-season forecast. With 891 sockeye over Lower Munumental Dam as of yesterday, this is the third straight year of greatly improved sockeye returns to the Snake River system.
