Oregon draft Recovery Plan Comments

On Thursday, May 27, 2010, Salmon For all submitted extensive commentary on the April 19, 2010 update to the draft Lower Columbia River Conservation and Recovery Plan for Oregon’s Populations of Salmon and Steelhead to the Oregon Fish & Wildlife Commission. The deadline for public comments on the draft Plan is Wednesday, June 2, 2010.  An informational briefing on the latest update to Oregon’s draft Plan is on the agenda for the Friday, June 4, 2010 Oregon Fish & Wildlife Commission meeting in Salem. (The agenda is posted on the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife website at: http://www.dfw.state.or.us/agency/commission/minutes/10/06_jun/index.asp.) The Oregon draft Conservation and Recovery Plan also is available online on the ODFW website at: http://www.dfw.state.or.us/fish/CRP/lower_columbia_plan.asp, where copies of the Plan can be downloaded for review.

The commentary on Oregon’s draft Plan submitted on Thursday, May 27, 2010 is the third set of extensive public commentary that Salmon For All has submitted to state and federal management agencies in the past two months. The deadline for public comment on the March 5, 2010 draft of Washington’s Lower Columbia Fish Recovery Board (LCFRB) draft Recovery Plan was April 9, 2010. The deadline for public comment regarding the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) 5-year reviews of West Coast ESA-listed Evolutionarily Significant Units (ESUs) was May 17, 2010.
