The Working Snake River is an interesting site for those curious to see what the Lower Snake River looked like before the four lower Snake River dams were constructed. There are several articles and photo galleries, which among other things document fishing on the Snake River, especially commercial fishing operations. Some of the information is courtesy of the Save Our wild Salmon coalition. Other pieces are purely historical in connection. The site, at workingsnakeriver.org, will give you a feel for what was lost, and what many hope can be restored again.
